Hyderabad,April 25 :  Telangana’s cumulative COVID-19 cases reached 3,95,232 with a new record single-day rise of 8,126 new confirmed cases until 2000 hours on Saturday, according to a state health department bulletin today.

After a huge 38 people died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 1.999 till date translating a case fatality rate of 0.50 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.1 per cent.

As many as 3,307 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide as of Saturday to take the overall number of recoveries to 3,30,304 constituting a recovery rate of 83.57 per cent while the national recovery rate was 83 per cent.

The active cases in the state currently stand at 62,929 ,the bulletin said.

In all, 1,08.602 samples were tested in the state between Friday and Saturday to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 5,429 swab samples are awaited.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic over 1.24 crore COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far.(UNI)
