Hyderabad, May 26 : Telangana registered 3,762 fresh coronavirus cases until 1730 hours Today to increase the state’s tally of COVID-19 cases to 5,63,903 till date.

The state recorded 20 fresh fatalities due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the death toll so far to 3,189 translating a case fatality rate of 0.56 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.1 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here today.

A total of 3816 people have recuperated from coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours to push the cumulative number of recoveries thus far to 5,22,082 constituting a recovery rate of 92.58 per cent while the national recovery rate was 89.6 per cent.

The active cases in the state presently stands at 38,632, the bulletin said.

In all, 91,048 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 2210 swab samples are awaited.

Cumulatively, 1,47,39,857 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.(UNI)
