Telangana registers 317 fresh COVID-19 cases

Hyderabad, Jan 1 : Telangana registered 317 COVID-19 fresh cases till 1730 hours Today  pushing cumulative cases to 6,82,215 so far.

With the death of two patients in the last 24 hours, the toll in the state due to the pandemic now stands at 4,029 translating a case fatality rate of 0.59 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here tonight.

As many as 232 people have recuperated from Coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours to take the total number of recoveries thus far to 6,74,453 constituting a recovery rate of 98.86 per cent .

Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 3,733, the bulletin said.

A total of 28,886 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 2,557 swab samples are awaited.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, 2,97,37,578 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far, the bulletin said.

Among the districts, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) remaining the main contributor of the infection, recorded 217 fresh coronavirus cases as followed by Rangareddy (26) and Medchal Malkajgiri (18).

The day’s remaining coronavirus cases have been reported by other districts, the bulletin added.(UNI)
