Hyderabad, Jun 8 : Telangana registered 1897 fresh Corona virus cases until 1730 hours on Tuesday to increase the state’s tally of COVID-19 cases to 5,95,000 till date.

The state recorded 15 fresh fatalities due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the death toll so far to 3409 translating a case fatality rate of 0.57 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.2 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here today.

A total of 2,982 people have recuperated from coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours to push the cumulative number of recoveries thus far to 5,67,285 constituting a recovery rate of 95.34 per cent while the national recovery rate was 94.25 per cent.

The active cases in the state presently stands at 24,306, the bulletin said.

In all, 1,33,134 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 1,480 swab samples are awaited.

Cumulatively, 1,61,27,372 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.(UNI)
