Telangana registers 245 fresh COVID-19 cases, one fatality

Hyderabad, Sep 29 : Telangana registered 245 fresh Coronavirus cases until 1730 hours today taking the total tally of cases in the state to 6,65,749 so far.
After one patient died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours the total toll due to COVID-19 stands at 3,916 till date translating a case the fatality rate of 0,58 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here tonight.
As many as 173 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries thus far to 6,57,213 constituting a recovery rate of 98.71 per cent while the national recovery rate was 97.81 per cent.
Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 4,620, the bulletin said.
In all, 52,683 samples were tested on Wednesday in the state to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 1405 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, more than 2,63,33,345 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Among the districts, by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) remaining the main contributor of the infection, recorded 73 fresh coronavirus cases as of Wednesday, followed, Karimnagar (21), Warangal Urboan (16), Nalgonda (15), Rangareddy (14), Medchal Malkajgiri (13), Khammam (12) and Mancherial (10).
The day’s remaining coronavirus cases have been reported by other districts, the bulletin added.(UNI)
