Hyderabad, May 23 :Telangana’s cumulative COVID-19 cases reached 5,53,277 with 2,242 new confirmed infection cases recorded until 1730 hours Today.

Afer 19 people died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 3,125 till date translating a case fatality rate of 0.56 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.1 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director Public Health and Family Welfare here today.

As many as 4,693 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide during the last 24 hours to take the overall number of recoveries to 5,09,663 constituting a recovery rate of 92.11 per cent while the national recovery rate was 88.3 per cent.

The active cases in the state currently stand at 40,489, the bulletin said.

In all, 42,526 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 2,231 swab samples are awaited.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic 1,45,07,897 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far.(UNI)
