Telangana registers 193 fresh COVID-19 cases, one fatality

Hyderabad, Dec 1 : Telangana recorded 193 fresh Coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of infections in the state to 6,76,187 till Today.

After one patient died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 3,993 till date, makes state death toll 0.59 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here.

As many as 153 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours, pushing the total number of recoveries to 6,68,564, constituting a recovery rate of 98.87 per cent.

Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 3,630, the bulletin said.

In all, 40,018 samples were tested on Wednesday in the state to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 1,653 swab samples are awaited.

Cumulatively, more than 2,86,22,944 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Among the districts, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) remaining the main contributor of the infection, recorded 73 fresh coronavirus cases as of Wednesday, followed by Rangareddy (17) and Medical Malkangiri (14).

The day’s remaining coronavirus cases have been reported by other districts, the bulletin added.(UNI)
