Telangana registers 1052 new COVID-19 cases, two fatalities on Tuesday

Hyderabad, Jan 4 : Telangana’s cumulative COVID-19 cases reached 6,84,023 with 1052 new confirmed infection cases recorded until 1730 hours Today.

After two persons died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 4,033 till date translating to a case fatality rate of 0.59 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare here tonight.

As many as 240 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide as of Tuesday take the overall number of recoveries to 6,75,132 constituting a recovery rate of 98.70 per cent.
The active cases in the state currently stand at 4,858, the bulletin said.

In all, 42,991 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 5,481 swab samples are awaited.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic 2,98,40,610 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far, the bulletin said.
Among the districts, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the main contributor of the infection by registering a maximum of 659 new coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri (116), Rangareddy (109) Mahabubabad (17), Hanumakonda (15), Peddapalli (15), Karimnagar (14), Suryapet (13), Santareddy (13) and Nalgonda (12).
The day’s remaining coronavirus cases have been registered by other districts, the bulletin added.(UNI)
