Hyderabad, May 12 : Telangana today recorded 4,723 fresh Coronavirus cases until 1730 hours, surging the cumulative case tally to 5,11,711.

The state registered 31 fresh fatalities due to COVID-19 taking the overall death toll as of Wednesday to 2,834 translating a case fatality rate of 0.55 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.1 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director Public Health and Family Welfare here today.

As many as 5695 people have recovered from Coronavirus statewide pushing the total number of recoveries so far to 4,49,744 constituting a recovery rate of 87.89 per cent while the National recovery rate was 83 per cent.

The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 59,133, the bulletin said.

In all, 69,525 swab samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 2763 swab samples are awaited.

Since the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic, 1, 38,23,741 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far, the bulletin added.(UNI)
