Telangana records 247 fresh COVID-19 cases, three fatalities until Tuesday night

Hyderabad, Mar 17 : COVID-19 cases continue to accelerate in Telangana as the state added 247 new cases of Coronavirus until 2000 hours on Tuesday taking the infection tally to 3,01,7691 till date.

The cumulative death toll in the state mounted to 1,659 after three people succumbed of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, translating a case fatality rate 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Wednesday.

A total of 158 people have recovered from Coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours to push the overall recoveries so far to 2,98,009 constituting a recovery rate of 98.75 per cent while the National recovery rate was 96.5 per cent.

Presently, the state has 2,101 active cases, including 716 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.

Between Monday and Tuesday, about 60,527 swab samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 588 swab samples are awaited.

Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, more than 93.59 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far, the bulletin added.(UNI)
