Telangana records 170 fresh COVID-19 cases
Hyderabad, Mar 6 :The total number of Coronavirus cumulative cases in Telangana has risen to
2,99,742 till date with 170 new COVID-19 cases registered until 2000 hours on Friday.
The state reported one fresh fatality due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 1,640 so far translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the country-wide mortality of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Saturday.
A total of 196 people have recovered from Coronavirus state-wide in a span of 24 hours pushing the cumulative number of recoveries thus far to 2,96,166 constituting a recovery rate of 98.80 per cent while the National recovery rate was 97 per cent.
The state now has 1,936 active cases including 812 individuals in home or institutional isolation,the bulletin said.
Between Thursday and Friday, 40,712 swab samples have been tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 568 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, more than 89.24 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The worst-hit Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation continued to be the main contributor of the infection by reporting 28 fresh Coronavirus cases followed by Medchal Malkajigiri district 15 cases, Rangareddy district 14 cases and Karimnagar district 12 cases.
The remaining Coronavirus new cases have been reported by other districts, the bulletin added. (UNI)
