Telangana records 1,498 fresh COVID-19 cases, six fatalities until Monday night
Hyderabad, April 6: Continuing the COVID-19 surge, Telangana, which has been reporting a record rise in daily cases in the recent past registered 1,498 fresh Coronavirus cases until 2000 hours on Monday pushing the state’s COVID-19 tally to 3,14,735 so far.
The state suffered six COVID-19 deaths afresh to take the total death toll to 1,729 thus far translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 percent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 percent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Tuesday.
As many as 245 people have recovered from Coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the cumulative number of recoveries till date to 3,03,013 constituting a recovery rate of 96.27 percent while the National recovery rate was 92.5 percent.
Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 9,993 including 5,323 individuals in-home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
Between Sunday and Monday, 62,350 swab samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 1,866 swab samples are awaited.
Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, more than one crore four lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far. (UNI)
