Telangana Minister says Congress’s goal is to win 15 of the 17 Lok Sabha seats.
HYDERABAD, APRIL 16 : Telangana Civil Supplies and Irrigation Minister, Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy, has reaffirmed the Congress party’s commitment to achieving ‘Mission Telangana—15’ by clinching at least 15 out of 17 Lok Sabha seats in the State.
Accompanied by Congress MLA N Padmavathi and Nalgonda candidate Raghuveer Reddy, Uttam actively participated in the election campaign held in Kodad and Huzurnagar constituencies under the Nalgonda Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday. He addressed a series of party meetings in Kodad and Huzurnagar before concluding with a large public gathering in Miryalguda.
During the meetings, he asserted that the people would rebuff both the BJP and BRS, alleging that both parties had betrayed the interests of Telangana. He claimed that while BRS had lost its relevance in the state, the BJP had no moral ground to seek votes in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Accusing the BJP of resorting to new ‘jumlas’ to deceive the public, Uttam criticized the BJP Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for failing to deliver on its promises during its previous terms. He warned against trusting the BJP’s manifesto, labelling it as another set of empty promises.
Highlighting the disparity in BJP’s national manifesto, Uttam pointed out the absence of measures addressing unemployment, which he claimed was at its peak across the country. He contrasted this with the Congress party’s ‘Nyay Patra,’ which promises to create millions of jobs and fill 30 lakh vacancies in various Central Government departments.
The Minister further criticized the BJP for neglecting farmers’ issues and rising inflation, accusing the government of disregarding the promises made to the agricultural sector. He also highlighted unfulfilled promises related to housing and infrastructure development, particularly in Telangana.
Uttam asserted that the BJP had neglected Telangana’s development needs, citing instances of unimplemented projects and unfulfilled commitments outlined in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. He lamented the shelving of the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) and the inadequate allocation of funds for essential projects in Telangana.
He expressed confidence in the people’s rejection of the BJP and BRS, vowing to secure victory for Congress candidates in a significant majority of Telangana’s Lok Sabha seats.(UNI)
