Hyderabad, May 4 :The upward trend in COVID-19 cases continued in Telangana with 6,876 new infections being reported till 2000 hours on Monday, pushing the total Cumulative cases to 4,63,361 so far.
In yet another high, the state recorded 59 fatalities due to Coronavirus in the last 24 hours pushing the death toll till date to 2,476, translating a case fatality rate of 0.53 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.1 per cent, according to a State Health Department bulletin here today.
As many as 7,432 people have recovered from Coronavirus statewide to take the total number of recoveries so far to 3,81,365 constituting a recovery rate of 82.30 per cent while the National recovery rate of 81.8 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state now stands at 79,520, the bulletin said.
Between Sunday and Monday, 70,961 swab samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 3,864 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, more than 1.31 crore COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.(UNI)
