Telangana logs 465 new COVID-19 cases, 4 fatalities on Sunday

Hyderabad, Jul 11: Telangana’s second wave of infection further slowed down as the state added 465 new COVID-19 cases until 1750 hours Today, to push the cumulative caseload to 6,31,683 to date.

COVID-19 deaths surged to 3,729 after four patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.59 percent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 percent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here today.

A total of 869 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries thus far to 6,17,638 constituting a recovery rate of 97.77 percent while the national recovery rate was 97.18 percent.

The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 10,316, the bulletin said.

As many as 65,607 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 565 swab samples are awaited.

Cumulatively, 1,97,60,171 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the bulletin said. (UNI)
