Telangana logs 463 fresh COVID-19 cases, four fatalities until Monday night

Hyderabad, Mar 30 : With a daily increase of 463 Coronavirus cases registered until 2000 hours on Monday, Telangana’s cumulative COVID-19 cases has risen to 3,07,205 so far.

The state suffered four COVID-19 deaths afresh to take the death toll to 1,694 as of date translating a case fatality rate of 0.55 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Tuesday.

A total of 364 people have recovered from Coronavirus state-wide in the last 24 hours to take the overall recoveries thus far to 3,00,833 constituting a recovery rate of 97.92 per cent while the National recovery rate was 94.2 per cent.

The number of active cases in the state currently stand at 4,678 including 1,723 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.

About 42,461 swab samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 906 swab samples are awaited.

Cumulatively, more than one crore and 95,000 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) continued to be the top contributor of the infection by reporting 145 Coronavirus cases since the past 24 hours followed by Medchal Malkajigiri district (46), Rangareddy district (28) and Nizamabad district (23).

The remaining new COVID-19 cases have been recorded by other districts, the bulletin added.(uni)
