Telangana logs 181 fresh COVID cases, one fatality
Hyderabad, Mar 12 : With no sign of ebb, Telangana added 181 fresh coronavirus infections on Thursday, taking the state COVID-19 caseload to 3,00,717.
The cumulative toll mounted to 1,650 after one patient died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin Today.
A total of 163 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours pushing the overall recoveries thus far to 2,97,195 constituting a recovery rate of 98.82 per cent while the national recovery rate was 96.8 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state currently stand at 1,872 including 733 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin added.
In a span of 24 hours, 21,340 samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious
virus out of which the results of 319 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, more than 91.14 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Among the districts, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation continued to be the chief contributor of the infection by reporting 44 fresh coronavirus cases as of Thursday, followed by Rangareddy (19), Medchal (15),Karimnagar and Nizamabad 10 each.
The remaining coronavirus cases of the day were registered by other districts,the bulletin added.(UNI)
