Telangana logs 157 new COVID-19 cases,one fatality until Sunday night
Hyderabad,Mar 15 :Telangana registered 157 new COVID-19 cases until 2000 hours on Sunday, taking the total case tally so far to 3,01,318.
The state suffered one COVID-19 death afresh to take the total death toll to 1,654 thus far translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent,according to a state health department bulletin on Monday.
A total of 166 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in the last 24 hours pushing the number of overall recoveries as of Sunday to 2,97,681 constituting a recovery rate of 98.79 per cent while the national recovery rate of 96.7 per cent.
Currently,the number of active cases in the state stand at 1,983 including 718 individuals in home or institutional isolation,the bulletin said.
Between Saturday and Sunday, 38,517 samples have been tested in the state to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 237 swab samples are awaited.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic,more than 92.38 lakhs COVID-19 tests
have been carried out in the state till date.
Among the districts,the worst-hit Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation remained the
main contributor of the infection by reporting 35 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (12) and rangareddy (11).
