Telangana Guv launches grand Bathukamma festivities at Raj Bhavan
Hyderabad, Oct 7: Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has launched the grand Bathukamma celebrations at the Raj Bhavan, here, on Wednesday.
The Governor joined the members of the Raj Bhavan pariwar in celebrating the Telangana’s unique traditional floral festival.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, without a break, took part in the traditional festival for more than three hours along with the pariwar members.
The Governor, accompanied by her family members, carried the traditional Bathukamma, which she personally prepared, to the lawns in front of her residence inside the Raj Bhavan complex and took part in the celebrations in the true spirit of the traditional floral festival.
After the festivities, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan carried the Bathukamma and immersed the same in complete adherence to the traditions at the Bathukamma pond inside the Raj Bhavan.
Many traditional Bathukamma songs were played as part of the celebrations and the Governor joined the women in going round the Bathukammas and singing in praise of the Bathukamma.
The Governor was joined by her husband, noted Nephrologist Dr. P. Soundararajan and her other family members and children.
Advisors to Governor, Secretary to Governor K. Surendra Mohan, and other senior officers and staff members were present.(UNI)
