Telangana govt orders another probe into unlawful occupation of temple lands by Eatala
Hyderabad, May 3 : A day after sacking Eatala Rajender from the state cabinet over assigned lands grabbing row, Telangana government on Monday called for an another probe against Eatala for unlawful occupation of Sri seetha Rama Swamy temple lands in Medchal Malkajgiri district.
A Government Order constituting a 3-members committee for enquiry into the temple lands encroachment was issued by Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar following several complaints received over large scale encroachments and illegal Transaction of lands belonging to the temple located at Devarayamjal village, Shamirpet Mandal, outskirts of Hyderabad.
The Endowment Department is claiming that an extent of 152i acres 13 guntas belongs to the temple.
A couple of vernacular newspapers in their daily edition on Sunday have extensively reported about the encroachment of the temple lands by former Minister Eatala and few other individuals, the order stated.
It is reported that these individuals have unlawfully occupied large extents of the temple lands in their own names as well as in benami names.
It is also reported that the value of the land encroached is more than Rs 1000 crore and the temple has been defrauded of such high value properties, it said.
It has also been reported that large constructions have been made on these lands without any valid permissions and in flagrant violation of several laws.
Besides gravely hurting the sentiments of devotees and the donors, it is alleged that these actions constitute grave violations of several laws in force.
The Government, after careful examination of the media reports, order a detailed enquiry into this issue by a Committee of officers headed by M.RaghunandanRao (Commissioner,PanchayatRaj &RuralDevelopment and other members Prasanth Jeevan Patil (Nalgonda District Collector), Ms Bharati Hollikari ( Mancherial District Collector ) and Ms Swetha Mohanty ( Medchal-Malkajgiri District Collector).
The committee would conduct a detailed enquiry into the temple lands encroachment and submit to the government at the earliest, the order added.(UNI)
