HYDERABAD, NOV 29 :The Telangana government has scrapped the grading system for the SSC Public Examinations, starting in the 2024-25 academic period.

Students will be awarded 100 per cent of the marks considering their external assessment without taking their internal assessment into the count.

Currently, external exams are conducted for 80 marks and internal assessments tests are held for 20 marks.

The government also scrapped the continuous and comprehensive evaluation system that assesses the overall development of students at schools, according to a memo issued by Principal Secretary to Government (Education department), Burra Venkatesham, here on Thursday.

“After careful examination of the matter reported by the School Education director, permission is accorded to the director to follow the new pattern of SSC Public Exams by awarding marks system, duly dispensing the existing grading system and also awarding 100 per cent marks to external assessments without any marks for internal assessments from the academic year 2024-25,” the memo added.
