Telangana Formation Day celebrated in low-key affair

Hyderabad, Jun 2 : For the second consecutive year, the Telangana State Formation Day was celebrated in a low-key affair Today owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao hoisted the National flag at a function held at Pragathi Bhavan, the CM’s official residence-cum-camp office and attended by a few invitees.
Earlier, Mr Rao paid floral tributes at the Martyrs memorial at Gun Park here.
Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Council Chairman Sukender Reddy hoisted the National flag in the Assembly premises.
Ministers and Legislators hoisted the National flags in the districts and the celebrations were held taking all safety precautions like wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and using sanitisers.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to the people of the state on Telangana Formation Day.
They recalled the long struggle and sacrifices of the people for separate Telangana state.(UNI)
