Telangana Congress tells Modi to apologize for statements made on Rahul.

HYDERABAD, JULY 3 : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Senior Vice President G Niranjan on Wednesday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apologize for accusing Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi of showing “childish behaviour”.

Niranjan praised Gandhi’s speech during the discussion on Motion of Thanks on President’s Address to Parliament which, he said, drew national attention and appreciation, causing embarrassment to Modi.

Talking to media at Gandhi Bhavan here, Niranjan criticized Modi for his response to the debate, accusing him of insulting Gandhi and undermining the dignity of the Leader of Opposition.

Niranjan demanded that Modi withdraw his remarks and apologize.
The Telangana Congress leader further criticized Modi’s comments that Rahul Gandhi’s behaviour was like that of a child (“Balak Buddhi”).

He questioned why Modi could not demonstrate his own maturity (“Badapan”) and act with greater dignity.

Addressing the criticism that Congress had only won 99 seats out of 543 in recent elections, Niranjan pointed out that the BJP had once secured only two seats in Lok Sabha.

He also reminded that the BJP, without its allies, had not achieved a simple majority in the Lok Sabha.
He mentioned Modi’s reference to Swami Vivekananda’s speech in Chicago 131 years ago, which glorified Hinduism, but accused Modi of ignoring Vivekananda’s teachings on the acceptance of infinite diversity in religious matters.(UNI)
