Telangana CM: Teachers are the Congress Government’s brand ambassadors.

HYDERABAD, AUG 2 : Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has stated that teachers are the brand ambassadors of the Congress government.

Speaking at a meeting for promoted teachers held at L B Stadium on Friday, the Chief Minister said that there are 26 lakh students in 30,000 government schools, with parents entrusting their futures to the teachers.

Reddy announced that the Congress government has promoted 25,000 teachers and transferred 30,000 teachers. He assured that it is his responsibility to ensure that salaries are credited on the first of every month. The meeting, he clarified, was not political but focused solely on the future of Telangana, which lies in the hands of the teachers.

The Chief Minister mentioned that while they aimed to allocate 10 percent of the Telangana budget for education, 7.3 percent, or more than Rs 21,000 crore, has been allocated considering the implementation of guarantees.

He pointed out that 26 lakh students are studying in 30,000 government schools, while 33 lakh students are in 10,000 private schools. He questioned if private schools have better teachers than government teachers, attributing any differences to a lack of infrastructure. He acknowledged the difficult conditions faced by employees in Telangana and emphasized the critical role of teachers.

Recalling an incident in the assembly, Reddy shared that when someone asked about his education, he proudly stated that he reached his position by studying in a government school.

He expressed confidence in the teachers and highlighted a drop of about 2 lakh admissions in government schools during the last academic year. He urged teachers to work towards ensuring parents feel proud to send their children to government schools.

Reddy assured that the state government is committed to resolving all the teachers’ problems. He announced steps to appoint sanitation workers in schools and provide free electricity.

He stressed that the state’s development hinges on the education of children from poor and Dalit backgrounds. He cited the AAP government’s electoral success, attributed to improving basti schools, and emphasized the need for quality education to sustain a people’s government in Telangana.(UNI)
