Telangana CEO opens picture exhibit to raise voter awareness
HYDERABAD, APR 20 : Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj inaugurated a voter awareness photo exhibition organized by the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Stand (MGBS) premises on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, CEO Vikas Raj stressed the importance of voters identifying their respective polling booths, highlighting various methods such as the ECI portal and mobile apps available for this purpose.
He encouraged voters to exercise their franchise and assured necessary arrangements to combat the summer heat during polling days.
Raj commended the efforts of the Central Bureau of Communication for setting up the exhibition, which bolsters the State Voter Electoral Education and Participation (SVEEP) efforts.
VC Sajjanar, Managing Director of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), urged first-time voters and youngsters to actively participate in the democratic process, utilizing the holiday granted on polling day.
He cautioned voters against being swayed by freebies and offered TSRTC premises statewide to host further voter awareness campaigns.
During the event, Shruti Patil, Additional Director General of the Press Information Bureau & Central Bureau of Communication, Hyderabad, highlighted the collaborative initiatives between the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the Office of CEO, Telangana.
She mentioned various efforts like street plays conducted across the state and announced plans for similar exhibitions in major towns to combat urban voter apathy.(UNI)
