HYDERABAD, NOV 12 : Special prayers, vibrant firework displays, and a spectrum of colorful events illuminated the celebrations of Diwali, the festival of lights, in Telangana on Sunday.

Devout Hindus flocked to temples, offering special prayers to kick-start the festivities. Homes adorned with tasteful decorations and dazzling lights set the stage for family feasts, while enthusiastic business owners conducted Lakshmi pooja in their beautifully adorned shops.

The bustling markets, featuring sweets, flowers, fruits, idols, and crackers, witnessed brisk business, continuing late into the night.

In an effort to promote eco-friendly celebrations, authorities urged the public to choose less polluting crackers and limit their usage to specific hours in the evening.

Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Deepavali, emphasizing its significance as the triumph of good over evil.(UNI)
