Telangana BJP requests that the CM make Junior Panchayat Secretaries formal employees.
Hyderabad, May 3 : Telangana BJP Unit President, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, MP, on Wednesday, urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to take necessary steps to regularize the Junior Panchayat Secretaries and address their demands.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, a copy of which was released to the media, Sanjay pointed out that 9,350 Junior Panchayat Secretaries in the state had been protesting for the last six days for the regularisation of their jobs.
Sanjay noted that, as a witness in the assembly, the Chief Minister had declared that there would be no more terms of contract and outsourcing employees in Telangana. It is unfair that Junior Panchayat Secretaries who qualified in competitive examinations and joined the job have not been regularized even after four years of their tenure.
He added that, although the probationary period of three years was extended to four years, Junior Panchayat Secretaries had performed their duties while bearing everything. Even after the deadline, they have not been regularized to date.
Sanjay stressed that it was unfair that the government, which was complaining that Gram Panchayats in Telangana were getting awards in matters like sanitation, hygiene, and village development, paid no attention to the problems of the probationary Panchayat Secretaries who played a key role in these areas.
The role of Junior Panchayat Secretaries is active in the implementation of Village Pragati, Haritaharam, Swachh Bharat programs along with development works in villages such as nurseries, Vaikunthadhams, dumping yards, construction of toilets, rural nature forests, farmers’ platforms, sports grounds, gardens.
Sanjay further emphasized that the Junior Panchayat Secretaries were not provided with job security, and they were forced to work for more than 12 hours a day.
He warned that the plight of the probationary secretaries to go on strike for the pursuit of their just demands is a testament to the incompetence of the government. It is not enough for the Chief Minister to sit in the White House alone. He must take care of the welfare of people and employees.
Sanjay urged the Chief Minister to focus on solving the problems of the Junior Panchayat Secretaries, or else the Telangana society would not forgive.
He warned that the Telangana BJP would not hesitate to conduct agitation on a large scale along with the respective employees if their jobs were not regularised, according to the given word.(UNI)
