Hyderabad, Sep 24: The monsoon session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly and Council were adjourned till Monday after adopting condolence motions here today.

Soon after the house assembled for the day, the condolence motions mourning the passing away of former members in the recent past was taken up by Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, who was in the Chair.

After the adoption of the condolence motions, the Assembly was adjourned for the day.

Later, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) met to decide the agenda and duration of the monsoon session.

The previous session had been adjourned sine die on March 26 after the passage of the Appropriation Bill for the current fiscal.

According to sources, eight bills are likely to come up for discussion during the session and a special debate on the flagship Dalit Bandhu scheme is also expected.

The Upper House (Council) also adjourned till September 27 after adopting condolence motions mourning the death of ex-legislators.

Tight security arrangements have been made around the Assembly complex.(UNI)
