Hyderabad, Jul 2 : Telangana state added 858 new COVID-19 cases until 1730 hours on Friday, to push the cumulative caseload to 6,25,237 till date.
COVID-19 deaths surged to 3,678 after 9 patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.58 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here today.
A total of 1175 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries thus far to 6,08,833 constituting a recovery rate of 97.37 per cent while the national recovery rate was 96.97 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 12,726 the bulletin said.
As many as 1,08,617 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 996 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, 1, 88,85,647 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the bulletin said.(UNI)
