Hyderabad, Jul 19 : Telangana added 746 new COVID-19 cases until 1730 hours Today, to push the cumulative caseload to 6,37,373 till date.

COVID-19 deaths surged to 3,764 after 5 patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.59 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here today.

A total of 729 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries thus far to 6,23,773 constituting a recovery rate of 97.86 per cent while the national recovery rate was 97.29 per cent.

The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 9,836, the bulletin said.

As many as 1,20,165 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 1370 swab samples are awaited.

Cumulatively, 2,06,50,053 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the bulletin said.(UNI)
