Telangana adds 315 new COVID-19 cases, 2 fatalities

Hyderabad, Sep 13:Telangana state added 315 new COVID-19 cases Today, taking the cumulative caseload to 6, 61,866.

COVID-19 deaths surged to 3,897 after two patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.58 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here tonight.

A total of 318 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries thus far to 6,52,716 constituting a recovery rate of 98.61 per cent while the national recovery rate was 97.51 per cent.

The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 5,253, the bulletin said.

As many as 70,974 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 1,705 swab samples are awaited.

Cumulatively, 2,55,03,276 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the bulletin said.

Among the districts, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is the main contributor of the infection by registering a maximum of 75 new coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours, followed by Karimnagar (29), Khammam (23), Medchal Malkajgiri & Peddapalli (19), Warangal Urban (17), Nalgonda (14), Jangoan (13) and Rangareddy (12) .

The day’s remaining coronavirus cases have been registered by other districts, the bulletin added.(UNI)
