TDP’s state bandh call has had no impact in East Godavari
Kakinada, Oct 20 : The state Bandh call given by the Telugu Desam party Chief Chandrababu Naidu in protest against the YSRCP workers’ attacks on TDP offices and leaders houses in Vijayawada had virtually no impact in East Godavari district as all the shops remained opened and offices both government and private functioned normally.
The Police have made elaborate arrangements to ensure that no law and order problem crops up and the police top brass including SP Ravindranath Babu and the Additional SP Karanam Kumar themselves swung into action and moved round the streets in Kakinada since early morning supervising the law and order situation.
The TDP leaders tried to take protest rallies but they were taken into custody and moved to different police stations and kept there for quite some time as a preventive measure.
At RTC bus station complex the TDP cadre staged a protest raising slogans denouncing the Chief Minister for alleged misuse of police force against the opposition parties.
Life is normal all over the district till evening and no untoward incidents reported from anywhere. The leaders of Janasena, BJP ,CPI and CPM parties have criticised the government for suppressing the democratic rights of the people .(UNI)
