TB preventive treatment initiated in Bihar: Mangal
Patna, Feb 8 : Health Minister Mangal Pandey said Today that the government has decided to launch tuberculosis preventive treatment in 11 districts of Bihar. Pandey said here that the health department was making all possible efforts to check TB and the programme would be initiated from February 9 in the selected districts. The health minister said that under the national TB eradication programme several schemes have been launched for time to time medical investigation, regular treatment and its prevention. He said under preventive measures kids under 6 years of age living along with the TB infected patients and HIV infected children and adults would be given preventive treatment. The TB preventive treatment would be given to everyone residing with TB infected persons, he added. The 11 districts selected include Nalanda Bhagalpur Samastipur Siwan Vaishali and Gopalganj among others.(UNI)
