Students of Hamirpur availing benefits of every home, school program through an online media

Hamirpur (HP), June 8:Under Every home, school (Har Ghar pathshala) program, the Himachal Pradesh Education department has helped the student’s community of the government schools of the Hamirpur district during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to get educational facilities from their teachers through an online media.

There are more than 41 thousand students that are availing benefits of the program and are happy with its results.

It’s worth mentioning here that under this ambitious program of the Education Department, more than 41 thousand students from class 1 to 12 are being provided education through an online medium.

The students and parents have expressed their gratitude to the state government and the department for better implementation of the program and to provide them with the quality education despite being going to their schools.

The State Government had started the Har Ghar Pathshala program last year on the initiative of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, with the thought that the education of school children should not be interrupted during the Corona period. Expanding the program during the second wave of the pandemic, weekly quizzes and EPTMs etc. have also been added to it.

Through online medium, daily communication of students with teachers and solution of difficult subjects and contact with parents was also being done from time to time claims Deputy Director (Higher Education) Dilvarjit Chandra.

Nisha, a student of Government Senior Secondary School, Lower Hareta, says that despite the school being closed for a long time, better reading material is being provided to them through every Ghar Pathshala program.

She says that this program run by the state government is proving to be very helpful in her education.

Similarly, Amna Sharma of the same school says that her online classes are being taken every day. The video link of every Ghar Pathshala is shared by the teachers and if any topic is not understood, then they ask for its solution during the online class.

Rameshwar Rangra, spokesperson of Mathematics in Lower Hadeta School, says that this innovative step of the state government is proving to be very beneficial for the students. The decision to organize a quiz competition every Saturday a week is very commendable.

With this, the students are getting information on the subject and their progress and where necessary corrections are also being made, he adds.

Sapna Sharma, a chemistry teacher said that Har Ghar pathshala program was of great help for the students and this had led the students to learn much and interact with their teachers on a regular basis.

She told UNI that when the program for this year started, the students of eleventh and twelfth classes were also given revision of the previous classes’ syllabus so that they were able to remain alert about the new syllabus.

Deputy Director (Higher Education) Dilvarjit Chandra said that in Hamirpur district, more than 17 thousand students of class IX to XII had been connected through a virtual medium.

He said that as of June 4, 2021, 16,339 students were attending classes under the Har Ghar Pathshala program under the supervision of 2,488 teachers, which was about 94 percent of the total student strength.

The education officer said that during this period 13,683 children of classes 1st to 5th were also studying through Har Ghar Pathshala under the supervision of 829 teachers, which was about 94 percent of the total students.

Apart from this, offline notes have also been made available to 855 children. Similarly, 11,251 students of classes VI to VIII are taking advantage of this program under the supervision of 1,451 teachers, which is about 99 percent of the total student strength. Offline notes have been made available to 35 children in this class.

Deputy Commissioner Debashweta Banik says that all necessary steps have been taken for the implementation of Har Ghar Pathshala program in the district and necessary guidelines have been issued to the Education Department.

On another hand, a local private school namely Him Academy Public school which is known for quality education has also been providing education to their students through an online education pattern.

The students are made to take classes on regular basis on all days except holidays, claimed Pankaj Lakhanpal, Managing Director of the Him Academy.

He said that classes for this academic year had been started on April 16th and have been going on since then.

Lakhanpal, said,” The students are getting an education as per their syllabus right from Nursery to Plus two class and also get value aided education, take part in the online sports and extracurricular activities”.

He said that in both the schools of the group, weekly tests are taken and accordingly, students are given marks and results are announced through the online app of the school named as HAPS.

Students of the school are happy with the working of the teaching staff and are feeling delighted. One of them Achyut Krishna said that he had to work more than what he was doing during the school times but it was wonderful to interact with the teachers on a daily basis and to seek various sorts of clarifications from them on an online basis.(UNI)
