Stray animals invade the Gandhi Chowk area of Hamirpur

Hamirpur: Stray animals (bulls) numbering about eight to ten invaded the busiest Gandhi Chowk market of the town at a time when the offices were going to be closed for the day Thursday evening and there was a heavy rush of the people there.

The worst affected were the young boys and girls that were returning from their tuition classes on their way to their homes when these bulls reached there.

A number of young girls raised hue and cry and huddled there and there for safety.

In the meantime, a number of locals reached there and forced the animals to leave the place and took them towards the Hiranagar forest area for the safety of the town’s people.

There is a general feeling among the people that the government agencies have badly failed to tackle the menace of the stray animals and the way they forced their entry into one of the busiest markets of the district proved that all was not well on this front.

They demanded that the agencies responsible for the control of the stray animals should work in an efficient manner and ensure that such animals didn’t cause any harm to the people in the rural and urban areas. (UNI)
