Lucknow, ApriL 29 : Former Uttar Pradesh minister and senior Samajwadi Party leader Haji Riyaz died due to Coronavirus.

Senior most IAS officer and Revenue Board chairman Deepak Trivedi too succumbed to the deadly virus on Thursday.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has condoled the death of the senior politician and bureaucrat.

Hazi Riyaz, a five time MLA from Pilibhit city seat, was minister in both the Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav government.

The SP leader was admitted to the hospital on Saturday last after detecting Covid. He was involved in campaigning in the panchayat polls in favour of his daughter and son-in-law.

Hazi Riyaz died in a private hospital in Bareilly on late Wednesday night. His daughter, contesting panchayat polls, too, was tested positive for Corona.

Meanwhile, UP’s senior most IAS officer Deepak Trivedi died of Corona at SGPGI in Lucknow on Thursday morning.

Mr Trivedi was also the chairperson of UP IAS Association was a 1985 batch officer. He was getting treatment at SGPGI since past a fortnight.(UNI)
