Somesh Kumar directs officials to formulate action plan on use of IT in SHGs in Telangana

Hyderabad, Mar 5 :Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar has directed officials to formulate action plan on use of Information Technology, capacity building, livelihoods, enterprise, development and convergence in the area of Self Help Groups (SHGs) in the state.

As per the direction of  Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Secretary held a review meeting on different activities and preparation of action plan of Society for Elimination  of Rural Poverty (SERP) and Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) at BRKR Bhavan on Friday, an official release here said.

He instructed the officials to focus on agriculture, food processing, soil testing, growing of vegetables, animal husbandry, nutrition etc., to change the livelihood of SHG women in the state.

The Chief Secretary directed the  officials to work in small groups and prepare detailed road maps for each area.

Mr Kumar asked the officials to provide seamless services to SHGs through use of IT and to initiate steps to make every SHG group to get bank linkage.

The Chief Secretary urged the officials to ensure reduction of malnutrition among children and anemia among women in the state through convergence of SHGs respective line departments.

Mr Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary, MA&UD, Mr Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, ITE&C, Mr Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Secretary, PR&RD, Mr B Janardhan Reddy, Secretary, Agriculture and Cooperation and other officials participated in the meeting.(UNI)
