Kolhapur, Mar 7 :Hundreds of Shiv Sena (SS) workers from the state would enter in Belgaum from Kagal check post Naka on Pune-Bangalore national highway, to take part in tomorrow’s scheduled Maha-Morcha of Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) for the permission to unfurl a saffron flag in place of illegal ‘Lal-Pivla’ (red-yellow) flag unfurled by Kannada Vedika Sanghatana (KVS).

District SS president Vijay Devne told UNI this evening that if Karnataka police restricted SS workers from entering in Belgaum district in Karnataka state then SS workers would enter in Karnataka state with use of “Ganimi Kava” (guerilla tactics means to go with stealthily) and participate in Maha-Morcha tomorrow.

Mr Devne said that he and all SS workers along with another district president Sanjay Pawar, other leaders, will gather tomorrow morning at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in Kagal town, very close to Karnataka state border on Pune-Bangalore national highway and enter in Karnataka state from Kagal check post Naka and if Karnataka Police stopped then then they will enter with use of “Ganimi Kava” tactics and participate in morcha to unfurl the Bhagva flag in Belgaum.

Belgaum district collector M G Hiremath has requested to MES leaders to cancel their Maha-Morcha with considering likely arising law and order situation in the district and come to discuss on this issue while served a ban notice to SS leaders from the state including Mr Devne and others to enter in Belgaum district under section 144 (3).

Mr Devne said that to provoked Marathi speaking peoples in Maharashtra-Karnataka border areas, KVS illegally unfurled it’s “Lal-Pivla” flag in Belgaum city but even MES leaders requested to district administration to remove the illegal flag, administration neglected towards the demand and give protection to flag. On this backdrop MES has decided to take a Mahamorcha for the demand of to remove the KVS’s illigal flag and give permission for unfurling a saffron flag in place of it. (UNI)
