Situated to the east of Bala Hisar along the main road which passes
through Fateh Darwaza and leads to the Balal Hisar Gate is Shamsheer
Kotha.

As the name suggests, the building was used for storage of
arms like Swords, Guns, Muskets, cannon Balls and such like.

Currently the department of archaeology has a priceless collection of weapons, mostly swords, bows and
arrows, from the Moghul, Qutb shahi and Asaf Jahi periods.

The architecture has all the signatures of the Qutb Shahi period with main
arches and window arches on the façade.
