Severe heatwave likely in SCAP in the next 48 hrs: MET

Hyderabad, April 4: Severe heatwave conditions are likely to prevail in many places of Guntur, Prakasam, and Nellore of South Coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP) during the next 48 hours, Meteorological Centre said on Sunday.
In a bulletin here, it said that heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail in most places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 48 hours and at isolated places in the districts of Nellore and Prakasam of South Coastal Andhra Pradesh on April 6, 7, and 8.
Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in the Chittoor district of Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours, while maximum temperatures are likely to be above normal by two to three degrees Celsius in Rayalaseema during the next 72 hours.
Thunderstorm with gusty winds at speeds of 40-50 kmph along with lightning is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during the next 72 hours.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to prevail at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during the same period.
The highest maximum temperature of 41.9 degrees Celsius was recorded at Nizamabad of Telangana during the past 24 hours.
The maximum and minimum temperature of 40.1 degree Celsius and 25.2 degree Celsius was regarded in Hyderabad on Saturday, the bulletin added. (UNI)
