Separate ward of 20 beds to be dedicated specifically to deal with cases of black fungus: Vishwajit Rane
Panaji, May 21 : Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today said that in view of the cases related to black fungus, the state government would be dedicating a separate ward of 20 beds to specifically deal with the cases of black fungus.
In a tweet, he said work had already begun on commissioning the 60 bedded Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU) which was extendable and could be increased to a capacity of 100 beds.
‘We are getting our infrastructure ready to deal with other complicated cases due to the new strain of Covid,’ he said.
Mr Rane said his ministry was also planning to commission a full-fledged MICU at the Super Specialty Block of Goa Medical College and Hospital.
‘Parallel to this, we are also planning to commission a full-fledged MICU at Super Specialty Block, which is the need of the hour. Our team is working hard to save lives with prime focus on reducing mortality, state of art treatment, prophylaxis treatment & to contain the surge,’ he said.(UNI)
