Mumbai, Sep 15: The BSE Sensex tumbled down further by 412.96 pts to settle below 59,934.91 as selling was seen in Technology, Metal, IT, and Health Care stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too fell 126.35 pts at 17,877.40.
The Sensex recovered by 108 pts at 60,454.37 in early trade. It surged 330 pts, days high at 60,676.12.
Later, it erased earlier gains and finished in red at 59,934.01, sliding 412.96 pts from its previous close.
It dropped 481 pts at 59,865.75, a day low.
In scrips, Tech Mahindra was a major loser, down by 3.21 pc to Rs 1081.33 followed by Infosys by 2.92 pc to Rs 1432, IndusInd Bank by 1.84 pc to Rs 1194, Bajaj Finserv by 1.83 pc to Rs 1773 and Tata Steel by 1.83 pc to Rs 107.10.
The gainers were Maruti Suzuki by 3.21 pc to Rs 9249.90, Powergrid by 2.15 pc to Rs 237.50, NTPC by 1.69 pc to Rs 174.15, and HDFC by 0.28 pc to Rs 2458.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.31 pc and Small Cap by 0.06 pc.
In 30 scrips, 7 advanced while 23 declined.
The Asian Market was up as Australia gained 0.15 pc, Hong Kong by 0.58 pc, Japan by 0.21 pc, and Taiwan by 0.08 pc. (UNI)
