Senior party leader dismissed by Apni Party

SRINAGAR, JAN 1    :     Apni Party on Monday expelled senior party leader and former Chief Spokesperson Javid Hassan Beigh over alleged anti-party activities.

On Sunday Beigh was relieved as the party chief spokesman.
Beigh was expelled from the party for five years
“ As informed by the District Committee Baramulla, Mr Javid Hassan Beigh has been found involved in anti-party activities. Since it goes against the basic constitution of the party, his basic membership is hereby terminated, and he is expelled from the party for a period of 5 years”, reads the order issued by the party general secretary.

The Apni Party was founded in March 2020, eight months after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A. Majority of the leaders of the Apni Party were drawn from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and National Conference (NC).

Javid Beigh, who is brother of the former deputy chief minister Muzaffer Baig, was a former PDP legislator who joined the Apni Party in 2020.
There is a possibility that Javid may return to the PDP in coming days.(UNI)
