Thane, April 20 : Senior BJP leader from the district, Sripad (Abasaheb) Waman Patwari, died of old age related problems at a hospital in Dombivli town on Tuesday night.
He was 88, and is survived by his wife and three sons.
Mr Patwari was elected to the erstwhile Dombivli Municipal Council and was also its president for some time.
He was active in both social and political life of Dombivli town and was also active in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh
circle.
Mr Patwari was the founder of Dombivli Nagari Sahakari Bank and also the Navavarsha Swagat Yatra.
He was also closely associated with Tarun Bharat.
During the emergency in the country, he was imprisoned for 14 months.(UNI)
