Secularism is a two-way street: Kalyan Pawan

VIJAYAWADA, SEP 24 : Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayat Raj expressed anger over some leaders for speaking against Hindu Sanatana Dharma and mocking it and made it clear that ‘Secularism is not one way but it is a two way’.

Pawan Kalyan, as part of his ‘Prayachit’ programme expressing repentance for making the ‘Laddu Prasadam’ of the famous hill shrine Tirumala Venkateswara, took part in the purification of the famous hill shrine Kanaka Durga temple here on Tuesday. He cleaned the stairs of the temple with water.

Speaking on the occasion, Pawn Kalyan expressed regrets at how the Hindus responded to the making Laddu with animal fat oil. He gave a clarion call to the Hindus to oppose hurting the sentiments of Hindus by registering protests unitedly, stating that their silence would further damage the Hindu Dharma. The film actor turned politician also called upon film personalities to extend support to protect Hindu Sanatana Dharma.

Pawan Kalyan also voiced his anger against popular film actor ‘Prakash Raj’ for his comments on the Laddu Prasadam adulteration row. He questioned Prakash Raj about how he was concerned about the issue and found fault with him for making comments. “I respect Prakash Raj personally. But as far as Hindu Sanatana Dharma is concerned, his comments are objectionable. I request Prakash Raj to maintain silence on the issue, instead of making adverse comments,” Pawan Kalyan noted. Referring to some comments made at a cinema release function, Pawan Kalyan warned not to make a mockery of Hindu Dharma.

The Deputy Chief Minister also questioned whether they would have responded like this if the same had happened in Islam or the Christian religion. He also pointed out how the devotees behave in Muslims’ sacred place Mecca. “Should I not respond when my Hindu Dharma is under attack, ” he questioned, lamenting that the Laddu Prasadam adulteration deeply hurt the sentiments of Hindus. he questioned.

Pawan Kalyan reiterated that he respects all religions including Islam and Christianity and expects the same from others. He also mentioned the destruction of many temples including the removal of the head of Sri Rama idol in the centuries-old Ramatheerdham temple during the YSRCP regime.

Pawan Kalyan vehemently objected to the comments made by former Additional Advocate General Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy, who said that fig fat oil is more expensive than ghee. MPs Keshineni Shivanath, Vallabhaneni Balashowry, MLC P Hari Prasad, and a host of other leaders were among those who accompanied Pawan Kalyan.
