SEB launches Mega strike on ID Liquor dens; Rs13 lakh worth jaggery wash destroyed in EG
Kakinada, April 27 : In what is stated to be a single day record by a district in the state ,the East Godavari Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) has destroyed as much as 67,900 liters of fermented jaggery wash ready for distillation during the mega operation conducted all over the district on the I. D. liquor brewing centers today.
The major strike was organized under the instructions from the superintendent of police Adnan Nayeem Asmi deploying over 100 personnel of all ranks in thirteen teams .
Additional SP SEB Dr Sumit Garud told media persons that the major strike was carried on facing heavy odds as the ID Liquor brewing dens are situated in difficult terrains including forest area, islands, canals, fields .
He said the operation proved a success with the destroying of very huge quantity of ferment jaggery wash, first of its kind ,and also arresting of five bootleggers on the spot and seizure of a vehicle with 100 liters of ID Liquor. He said the operation had yielded rich dividends in areas like Pithapuram, Prathipadu and Peddapuram.
Dr Sumt said that the entire operation was monitored by Enforcement superintendent Prasad, SEB inspectors, SHOs.
He said the SEB would come down with iron hand on ID liquor dens and sought the cooperation of people in controlling the menace by duly informing the SEB about the ID liquor dens and sales.
SP Adnan Nayeem Asmi has complemented Dr Sumit Garud and the entire SEB teams for carrying out such a major operation bringing laurels to the district police administration.(UNI)
