Kolhapur, May 28 :Sakal Maratha Samaj (SMS) activists Today staged ‘dharna’ agitation in front of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue at Shivaji Chowk this afternoon for Maratha reservation, in which BJP state president Chandrakant Patil, district BJP (rural) president Samarjeetsinh Ghatge, ex MP Dhananjay Mahadik also participated.
Gathering at Shivaji Chowk, the participants staged ‘dharna’ agitation, shouting slogans for reservation.
Addressing to gathering, Mr Patil said that to enforce benefits which are getting to OBC, to Maratha community till to get reservation to Maratha. He also demanded that the government should purchase management quota of private colleges for Maratha community students with paid their education fees.
Mr Patil further sought that the government should give an appointment letters to Maratha candidates immediately and should file a review petition on supreme court’s decision immediately as it’s (to file) last date as June 6 with constitute a new backward commission for Maratha community.(UNI)
