Rythu Bandhu to continue till Sankranthi: TRS
Hyderabad, Jan 10 : Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president and Minister KT Rama Rao Today said that Rythu Bandhu celebrations to mark the occasion of crediting Rs 50,000 crore in the bank accounts of farmers will continue till Sankranthi.
Speaking to the media at TRS Bhavan here, Rao said, earlier it was decided to celebrate it for a week from January 3 to 10 but with the increasing demand of the farmers and party workers it will be celebrated till Sankranthi.
Thanking Chief Minister K Chandasekhar Rao on behalf of TRS party, the Minister further said that no other state in the country has brought such a scheme.
While praising the Chief Minister, he stated that the scheme has been introduced for the welfare of the farmers were as around 64 lakh farmers were benefited by the scheme in the state.
Elaborating on other schemes of the agriculture sector, the TRS working president further stated that the state government was spending Rs 1,450 crore every year as a premium of Rythu Bhima and around as 70,714 farmers gained under the loan waiver scheme, the state government had spent Rs 16,144 crore in the first phase and Rs 732 .28 crore in second phase.
The other expenditures include Rs 10,500 crore every year for free electricity (24×7) to the farmers. Rs 28,473 crore for the development of the power sector. Rs 1,07,315 for irrigation projects, Rs 4,540 crore for paddy procurement, Rs 951.29 crore for agriculture allied machinery, Rs 572 crore for the construction of farmers’ platforms.
So far the state government has spent Rs 2.15 lakh crore in the agriculture sector alone from 2014 to 2021, Rao added.(UNI)
