Russian FM to visit India from April 5

New Delhi, Apr 1: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will arrive here in India on a two-day visit on April 5-6, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia said on Thursday.

The Ministry said Mr Lavrov will hold talks with External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The Ministers will discuss bilateral relations, preparations for the upcoming Heads of State meeting,” Russia MFA tweeted.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the heads of the foreign affairs agencies will discuss cooperation in the fight against the pandemic.

“The leaders will consider key topics on the regional, global agenda, assess approaches to the interaction between Russia and India on the international arena, including at the UN, BRICS,” Zakharova said at a briefing.

Interestingly, the Russian Foreign Minister, after India, will pay a visit to Pakistan.

“An in-depth exchange of views is planned on topical issues of the regional and international agenda with an emphasis on Afghan issues and interaction at multilateral platforms, including the UN and the SCO,” Zakharova added. (UNI)
