New Delhi, Jul 8: Raj Kumar Singh Today assumed charge as Cabinet Minister in the ministries of Power and New and Renewable Energy.

Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister for giving the responsibility, Mr. Singh said that the Prime Minister has shown great confidence and we will live up to that.

He said that his ministry has achieved targets of electrification set by the Prime Minister well before the scheduled time and will strive to ensure that the benefits of the power and energy sector reach the common man.

Mr. Singh was holding the charge of this ministry as Minister of State (Independent Charge) and he has been elevated to the Cabinet rank on Wednesday in a mega reshuffle and expansion of the Union Council of Ministers. (UNI)
